Plan Your Trip
On the day, we see 10,000 or more visitors along Gorge Road West between Tillicum Road and Admirals Rd. Can you imagine if everyone drove a car to the event? Where all those people park?
Instead of driving to the event (because parking is very limited), we'd like to encourage you plan your trip via bus, bike, or by foot. We've assembled information and tips to help you plan your trip, below.
By Bus
There are two ends of the event:
- West End of event: Admirals Rd at Gorge Rd West
- East End of event: Tillicum Rd at Gorge Rd West

By Bike
As cycling has become a favourite way to come to The Picnic, we have a Bike Valet at either end of the event. This means you can ride from home and safely drop your bike at the end of the event that is closet to you:
By Foot
We encourage all who live within the Gorge Tillicum Area and close by to enjoy the day and the fresh air by walking. We've assembled an idea of walking times for our area:
To Admirals at Gorge Rd West (West end of event):
- From Admirals Rd @ #1 Highway: 17 minutes
- From Songhees Nation: 10-20 minutes
- From Esquimalt Nation: 15-20 minutes
